Re: 24-Bit Recording Status
The most important first: Goldwave works perfectly! I tried it with 96/24 only, not with any other sample rate. The tools to zoom horizontally and vertically are fine (more vertical zoom than Audacity) and very soon they showed that the resolution is much better than 16 bit. In the 32 bit export the...

Re: 24-Bit Recording Status
but when you change to 48000 Hz project rate you can record into Audacity? You do have Audacity set to record in stereo, don't you? Exactly. WASPI 24 bit. Stereo: Yes. What about the two "Exclusive Mode" checkboxes underneath "Default Format"? Are they enabled or disabled and does changing the chec...

Re: 24-Bit Recording Status
Out of curiosity: what device are you using to record? I expected this question... Because I never saw such a device myself but needed one for a product, a friend of mine (software) and I (hardware) designed it. Meanwhile I can offer it as a kind of kit for DIYs, too: http://www.beis.de/Elektronik/...

Re: 24-Bit Recording Status
In System Tray > Recording Devices > Recording > Properties > Advanced > Default Format only one sample rate is available, which is in this case 2 channels, 24 bit, 96000 Hz. Thus the box is grayed out and there is nothing to select or set up. As I wrote: My USB device is capable of one sample rate ...

Re: 24-Bit Recording Status
Hi, thanks for the answer I THINK that means your soundcard only runs at 48kHz internally it's not a soundcard, it's an external USB interface (possibly also called a "soundcard"). This USB interface is a digital-audio-to-USB adapter (either S/PDIF- or Toslink-to-USB) which is capable one direction ...

Re: 24-Bit Recording Status
Record at 24-bit depth on Windows (using Windows WASAPI host), Mac OS X or Linux (using ALSA or JACK host). I tried it and it works perfectly, but with 48 kHz only. With 96 kHz I get "Error while opening device". 96 kHz (actually 8 kHz up to 192 kHz) work with MME, but with 16 bit only and some kin...

Re: Recordings at 192 kHz very faulty
Hi everybody, thanks for your answers. I didn't respond for a long time because I had to care much for other things. Steve, yes, it seemed obvious to be a bug in Audacity. Now that I learned about PortAudio, it might have been there, too. But this crazy situation that on two notebooks the bug disapp...

Re: Recordings at 192 kHz very faulty
It looks like we misunderstand each other. UweB wrote: >There is nothing that can be set in Audio MIDI Setup for our device. Then you have a problem. Why? That's what I expect: Nobody and nothing should be able to alter the audio data. And note that I am able to prove that nothing alters the origina...

Re: Recordings at 192 kHz very faulty
Hi, it all seems a bit confusing to me and it tells me that I cannot rely that everything always can be expected to work reliably. Anyway, I recognize that I should point out once more that our interface is different from what you know from other devices and what you obviously assume is the same her...

Re: Recordings at 192 kHz very faulty
@ Gale: >There is no sign yet if Windows 10 will finally add support for USB Audio Class 2 That's what the designer of our interface tells me, too. >But USB Audio Class 1 supports up to 96000 Hz as far as I know: http://thewelltemperedcomputer.com/Intro/SQ/USB_SPDIF.htm. Yes, correct. Meanwhile (sin...
