Have you tried resetting PRAM and SMC?
Try this first:

And to reset pram, restart your Mac and hold down option, command, p and r until you've heard the startup chime twice.

Re: iTunes won't open saved files
The latest iTunes is buggy as hell for me. I had to become the owner of my library again after the latest update. I could still change volume of tunes in "options", but Itunes wouldn't store the changes. In this version, Apple introduced the "heart" next to the stars for apprecia...

Re: How accurate is the "Plot Spectrum" function?
If you blow good amps with clipping, your gain staging is probably wrong. No meter will protect from that, let alone an spl based meter. You might learn something from looking at the light show, but you still need the basics in knowledge. Every device in your reproduction chain should be at its norm...

Re: Low sound from headphones and no sound from microphone w
The Focusrite 2i2 doesn't come with software (except some VST plugins I believe) since it has no routing, mixing or other stuff to set. It doesn't need a driver because it is USB audio class compliant. Also, the only difference between mic and line inputs is the gain setting. Physically, even a line...

Re: iTunes won't open saved files
Please have a look at the pink box. What's your OSX version, Audcity version etc. What file are you trying to open? .aup is an Audacity project file. It contains NO audio and is dependent on a map with audio fragments. If you start moving around files, the project file might not find the associated ...

Re: Record system sounds and mic
The only easy way to avoid using two computers, is with fairly expensive external hardware. The bigger audio interfaces support internal routing, mixing and gain control. These allow you to patch any channel to any channel and even to create mixes and route them to the computer. Think about it as a ...

Re: Possible? Two mics into left and right channel into Auda
Mmmm... I smell some confusion here. The weak link certainly isn't your Macbook. I sometimes record 8 or even 16 channels on a G4 Powerbook that dates back more than 15 years. Simply recording (without applying plugins) doesn't need much processor power. You have a proper stereo line in on your Macb...

Have you tried downloading the .dmg file again?
Could just be a transmission fault in the download. It's rare, but still happens.

Re: Motu input to Audacity
Usually, these Control Panels replace Audio/Midi setup. So there's no need to double settings. A/M setup will follow the CP if everything's in order. When running an older CP on a newer OSX, this coupling mechanism does break sometimes. Then it can sometimes be fixed by manually setting both apps ri...
