Re: Audacity 2.0 and 2.1 taking too much temp space to impor
I have plenty of space when I need it. I'm just incredulous that the uncompressed data needs to be stored on disk. You clearly do not have 'plenty of disk space'. While decompressing, the software who does it, needs storage for temp files too. To decompress an average 1 GB zip file, you need AT LEA...

Re: How Do I Add more RIAA Curves?
I've experimented quite a bit with RIAA correction in software some years ago, as I had an interface that applied RIAA in software. The most important thing I've learned, is that it is sensitive to the level of the incoming signal. In a typical Hifi RIAA preamp, this problem is avoided by setting &q...

Re: Audacity 2.0 and 2.1 taking too much temp space to impor
Attempting to import a 633MB file causes over 7GB (all available space) of temp disk space to be consumed. After consuming all the available disk space over the course of 4 minutes, an error message dialog is raised indicating the temp data cannot be saved. I do not know if this is a problem with t...

Given the Mac has the ability to natively read DTS (I believe it should)... Can o' worms... It does and it doesn't. Core Audio knows about DTS, but hardly any app does. Even Quicktime doesn't know about DTS. And while Core audio will resample almost anything on the fly, it won't do so for DTS. Ther...

Re: Strange audio problem
I can record, it recorded fine for over an hour before this problem gradually occurred. The problem is with your USB mic or even the USB cable/port. It's a clock problem. Audio and video need to be timed precisely. To do that, a clock signal is generated by the AD chip in the mic. USB doesn't know ...

those three are well-regarded manufacturers. I don't know the other two intimately, but Lenco hasn't been a well-regarded manufacturer in over 20 years. Lenco Switzerland closed doors in the eighties. The stuff that has been produced under this brand since is mostly a marketing effort. It's a Dutch...

Re: Cant record system audio after upgrading sound card
And here are two shots of my RME control panel, and my setup: http://www.jeffreyhayat.com/rme-2.jpg http://www.jeffreyhayat.com/rme-3.jpg You need to hit the X key to switch from mixer view to routing view in Totalmix. In Audacity, you need to select "analog 1+2" as the incoming recording...

Re: Can't open files located in shared folder
Hi When we want to open an audio file (.mp3) located on the computer, no problem. When we want to open the same file located in our server, Audacity doesn't want to :c/ You don't want to open an mp3, you want to import it. It is very important to teach the right workflow, eg - create new project (o...

Re: Cant record system audio after upgrading sound card
In my RME Mix Panel, I see the audio... You also need to route the channels you want to record in Totalmix. Hit the X key and set the number of inputs you need. Then open Audacity and select the RME for input and output. You M-audio is a very simple thing, compared to the RME that allows you to rou...
