Re: Audacity and Focusrite Scarlett 2i2
It would be interesting to know what interface that is, as I've never seen one behave like that.

Re: Improving a (faint) recording of a talk from original
I have no idea, really...
Are you sure the download finished?
Did you try moving after a restart, or to a different directory (just as a test)?

ffmpeg 55.33.100/55.52.102/52.66.100 Do you really have three ffmpeg versions installed? I could never get two versions to work reliably (on my Mac), let alone three. I don't know if it has to do with your problem, but I've had some very weird problems too, with two different ffmpeg versions. I nev...

Re: clipping problem with soundflower
I've read your post three times now and I still don't understand what's happening... You "pop" the files into Audacity? - Did you use the "import" function, or did you drop the files onto an open Audacity window or on the program's icon? What could be happening is that your 24 bi...

Re: Cursor stuck using Zoom H4n
My first guess would be the Zoom driver... I've had several Zoom devices and the drivers are not that great. It might take some experimenting and certainly some searching. When I had driver problems, the Japanese Zoom site didn't have an update fi. The US site did, but it was fairly hidden. If a dri...

I've amplified 40 dB and ran Noise reduction with standard settings: -12 dB, 6, 1.
It sounds a bit better.
I can't make out if this is real rain or bad noise because of a low recording level, cause I'm listening on laptop speakers.
But your recording seems salvageable.

Another trick that works well for me, is zipping up the folder and the .aup file into one archive and then uploading the .zip file.

Re: pro audacity
I think you should capture in Audacity and edit in Audition. Nowhere is it written you can't have two editors. I have two. I wouldn't run both at the same time. Audacity doesn't like that. I always run Audacity as second fiddle, next to Reaper, Garageband and Sony Sound Forge. No problem. So if you...
