"Bumping" is just a way of bringing this topic back to attention. Apparently, Peter is doing some spring cleaning early

Re: "Operating system" for existing users
Thx Steve. Found it. Set it.
I was under the impression that clicking on my username would take me to the control panel (as it does in most other fora I know). Apparently not.

"Operating system" for existing users
New users need to select their operating system when registering on this forum. Very useful. When I went to my profile to set it, it reads "please select". But it isn't a link, despite showing as a link optically. How can I set that? If this function isn't ready for prime time yet, can a m...

Re: Enabled Plugin Still Wont Show Up.
Did you notice the pink box? Did you notice "Operating System" under the user's name? ;) We usually need the Audacity version number but from the description it is obviously either 2.1.1 or a 2.1.2 RC. Gale Yes, quite, found it. Took me 30 seconds or so as I had wondered before where this...

Your Audacity version and Windows version are really necessary to trace this kind of problem.

Re: Downgraded to 2.0.3 to Overcome Static on Recent Version
I guess you use some audio interface or are all of these mics USB mics? Could you please specify which brand and model?benorbeen wrote:After a few tests with a different microphone, I got the same issues...
Static noise like that can come from USB transmission. It's very dependent on drivers and system software.

Re: settings for macbook air
The easiest way probably is Audio Hijack Pro (49$):

The free version can record up to ten minutes.
Jack OSX (free) can do it to, but is more complex to set up than Soundflower.

Re: adding a control to reverb.
I must have been terribly unclear :D I don't recall the numbers, if they were in the article I read so many years ago. It was around 1976 or so and it was an article in a fairly serious Dutch scientific magazine called "Natuur en techniek". That article got pulled a couple of months later....

Re: Help I Lost My Files!
Yes, Koz, there are books. :D And some of these even touch subjects such as "Alternate data streams". But I've never encountered anyone who understands what they really are. Most books don't even touch the subject. I don't know any software that uses ADS, except for one very old, very nast...

Hardware or software?papabear124 wrote:Thanks, I have a recording now. Had to use LineIn.
Now I'll figure out how to save a file.
I mean lineIn as in the connection on your Mac, or LineIn, the application?
For the app, see Rogue Amoeba:
