Re: Vinyl with Behringer U-Control UCA202
Tape output is almost always pre-volume, not regulated. But you can check if the level is better for the UCA202. It doesn't need to be perfect, as you can always amplify in Audacity.

Re: Vinyl with Behringer U-Control UCA202
If I understand correctly, you have hooked up your turntable directly to the UCA202? First off, the UCA 202 has no gain settings. It's a simple line level interface and there is no gain to set. The turntable needs a phono preamp in between. The TT's output is only 2-4 mV. The Berhinger's input is li...

Re: Blu-Ray with FFMpeg reading m2ts
VLC is a bit hard when it comes to exporting. You have to be very careful when setting audio and video settings for export. I'm guessing the export you have now is just a copy, really and provokes the same error in Audacity. I think you might need to experiment with VLC's export settings, strip off ...

Re: No waveform activity. Whatever I try.
RCA/minijack from Zoom output to desktop input. I don't know you'd need much support to plug an analog sound cable into your sound card. This should be pretty simple. The Zoom isn't playing music to its analog output. I dunno... Furthermore, I'm using my Zoom R16 as pre-amp/interface/monitor. Is th...

Re: Blu-Ray with FFMpeg reading m2ts
Yes but how to use that with audacity? [Yes I assumed grabbing some music off a commercial blu-ray might have legal ramifications, the sad part is when I own it... another discussion] Install VLC, test export, import in Audacity? I don't know much about ffmpeg, but VLC is my go-to tool for audio an...

I don't really grok it either...
Could it be he's just missing the .wav extension on the file and Windows doesn't know how to deal with it?

VLC to the rescue?
It seems to be able to decode DTS through libCDA:

https://github.com/wangp/libcda
It's still experimental, incomplete and probably illegal in the US. Seems to be in ffmpeg too...

Re: No audio in via USB interface
I think he means that the headphone output from the tape deck goes to the Citronic AC-1USB, which is probably connected via USB with the computer. It's supplied with Audacity, according to: http://citronic.avsl.com/product/128.515UK and that leads us to the question which version of Audacity he's us...

Re: No waveform activity. Whatever I try.
Has the Zoom R16 worked with your Linux setup? I seem to vaguely remember the driver being dropped from the kernel recently. You didn't by chance update your kernel? I used to have an R16. Back then, Linux support was spotty. Output didn't work, recording did work. But that could've been me. I never...
