Re: WMA vs WAV?

WMA isn't a file format. It's a container, like .mov or .avi. It could contain wav, it could be compressed, and it could be copyright protected with DRM. The error suggests that it is copyright protected, but it's probably another error, if you made that WMA yourself. As to what error, I have no ide...

Re: CONNECTING VOICELIVE 3 TO AUDACITY

The TC VoicLive is an effects unit for live use. It has only one input. It doesn't work together with your Tascam interface, as there is already a USB interface in the TC VoiceLive. If you use it like the manufacturer intended it, you connect your vocal mic to the input and the stereo out to the FOH...

Re: Everything is crashing now! Please help!

If you're on Windows 10, reinstall your audio drivers. There's been a Windows update in the last couple of days that contains a bug. I don't know yet which update. It seems to provoke various applications not starting, or crashing. Even applications that don't use audio, like Thunderbird or even Sol...

Are you sure these are guitar inputs too? Is there a switch with a mic/inst setting?

Mics are lo-Z, low impedance. Guitars are usually hi-Z, high impedance. A guitar connected to a lo-Z mic input could have a too low level.

Re: Crackling/clicks heard on all files

Have you tried disabling HDMI? In my experience, this is a very confusing option that sometimes interferes with the usual line outputs. I once spent almost a week troubleshooting a USB audio interface on one of the first laptops with a HDMI output. That one wasn't even capable of outputting audio ov...

Re: low budget mic and speakers for conference calls

Try a PZM mic. These are usually the best to record groups. The Audio-Technica ATR4697 is 34 € currently with thomann. The Superlux E303B is 39 €. Combined with an Alesis Core 1 interface you're still below 100 €... The Superlux has XLR connectors, the AT has a 3,5 mm jack, so you'll need an adapter...
