I wasn't even aware there was a function like "make stereo". I always use your workaround. Like to make things complicated, I guess...Robert J. H. wrote:The workarounds are rather awkward and defeat the purpose of "make stereo":
- make Track 1 left and track 2 right --> mix and render.

I need an hour for setup, which usually is done in 15 mins. I don't think you need an hour to set up Pamela. At your option, Pamela will give you split WAV tracks for high quality editing in post production. I need an hour on the rider, when starting on location, with their Skype computer. If their...

Re: Splitting Stereo tracks
There's two voices... Neither of them ar really mono. And the male voice isn't in the centre. Besides, it's been an mp3, which doesn't help either.
In short: I can't make anything of this audio. Maybe someone else can?

Re: Workflow on mixing tracks
"Mix and render" will be less incomprehensible to the newcomer. But I think Steve is right that "mix" and "render" both are mostly the same. Iirc, there is at least one DAW that has it formulated "mix and render" in the menu. It's one area where some DAW's go ...

Yeah, Koz, as a network guy I probably hate Skype more than anything else, including Outlook :D . It'll drill out of any network and blocking it, if you have to, is a work in progress. But Skype's audio is still a normal in and out, just like any other program. It needs to talk to your audio hardwar...

Re: Shape of portable vocal booth matters?
Don't talk about it. Measure. A measurement mic should be part of your toolbox. Learning how to use REW, ARTA or FuzzMeasure is worth it, as it will show you the little things that matter. I lend a hand to treating a well-equipped home studio recently and without measuring, you're guessing. And as l...

Re: Recording through a headset
It's easy with a professional interface like a Focusrite 18i20 or RME Fireface 400. These have a large number of internal busses and these allow to do zero-latency playthrough in hardware, either to a real output or to a virtual output. Since it is handled by the internal DSP of the interface, you c...

Re: Two mics. No mixer. Two person interview.
It's not your fault, Dana.
It's Alesis' fault. Even Alesis support gets confused about their small mixers. And it's strange, as their (older) range of interfaces (io2 to io26) do not have the name problem.
