It was just a reflection on what Mickster was saying about more bugs in 2.1.2, especially when it comes to plugins.
The "closing with the red button" bug when closing effect windows was already reported here:

Re: Audacity crashes whenever I use my external mic
Why is that? Same reason I use Mavericks instead of Yosemite. I have the entirely unfashionable idea that the software should do what I want instead of compulsively updating to the latest version and taking my chances. I have a little thrill watching people update to beta (or even alpha) software a...

Re: Workflow on mixing tracks
P.S. I never expect Photoshop to save anything other than I see on the screen and nor do I expect Word to save anything other than I can see in the on-screen document. Ouch, Peter. That is exactly what you'd expect Word to do. Only, it doesn't. If you delete text in a Word doc, it doesn't get delet...

Re: Workflow on mixing tracks
Maybe we need a roadmap, in stead of feature requests. I like the voting system, in concept. In reality, I'm willing to admit it's a failure. The sample is too small to be indicative of what the users want. Maybe it's time for the devs to make two lists? - One list with features they deem useful and...

Re: Workflow on mixing tracks
What is the point of Mix tracks: None? Say you have a multi-track project in which tracks 2 and 7 of 30 have complex envelopes and you want to "render" those envelopes so that you may more easily add new envelope points. You don't want any other changes to the project at this stage. Curre...

Re: Workflow on mixing tracks
"Mixdown Tracks" acts like the current "Mix and Render" except that Mute and Solo buttons are respected. "Mixdown to New Track" acts like the current "Mix and Render to New Track" except that Mute and Solo buttons are respected. Personally I'd be happy with t...

Plugins testing in 2.1.2
I'm just testing plugins ATM. The list is mostly the same as it was under 2.1.1... One plugin is now working correctly in 2.1.2 while it wasn't in 2.1.1. That's UpStereo. One plugin (GonioMeter) isn' working anymore. Now it crashes, under 2.1.1 it seemed to work, but it didn't really work. One plugi...

Re: I guess it's best to wait for 2.1.2a? 2 questions.
Installing 2.1.2 will not delete plugins. But you need to "scan" your plugins folder again an enable those you want. If that's the case it's a bug, assuming you did not delete pluginregistry.cfg. If you think there is a bug here, can you be specific about which plugins and the exact path ...

Re: Audacity locking up issue
1. First, try disabling Bluetooth in system preferences. If that doesn't help, go to the next step. 2. Try disabling Airplay and Airdrop. This seems to work in some cases on El Capitan. Copy this command and paste it into the Terminal: sudo ifconfig awdl0 down Airplay/Airdrop will be back after you ...

Re: Recording Levels
The BlueBird is a mic with a very high output (27 mV/Pa). It is quite capable of clipping the M-Audio M-track, fi if you breathe into it. If that is the case, you need a plop filter. Unfortunately, neither the mic nor the preamp have pads. If the clipping is in the analog domain, you'll need externa...
