Re: preferences clavinova using midi cables
That's your computer and maybe some lesser shielded cables. A decent USB interface would probably solve that. It might pick up other noise, depending on your computer. Some laptops are not suited for audio, I'm afraid. But if you buy from a shop that lets you return stuff, you can test without too m...

Re: preferences clavinova using midi cables
Audacity isn't doing that. The Windows mixer is. First look at possible sources and disable what you don't need, such as the laptop's internal mic: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer_Toolbar_Issues#vistacp Then launch Audacity and select the line input as your recording source: http://wiki.auda...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection
And that time selection seems to persist when you switch back to waveform view. Maybe that's part of the confusion?

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection
I understand that, Gale, but if you first made a time selection, you can't make a frequency selection, since the error reappears. I'd expect the time selection to disappear, but it remains visible. It's not until you deselect by clicking in the waveform, that the spectral selection appears. And this...

Re: Concert Band Recording
I am going to be recording a Concert Band Festival. Just wondering if any have used Audacity for this purpose before? My questions: 1. Compression - with such a wide dynamic range in a concert band, did anyone use compression or just set gains as low as needed? Compression in Audacity doesn't matte...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection
If you first select part of the audio, before enabling spectral selection, it doesn't seem to "see" the selection. No numbers appear in the toolbar. And that toolbar can't be typed into... That is not correct. You can enter frequencies into Spectral Selection Toolbar when a track is not i...

2) 64bit systems will get a full 64bit build against the current platform SDK, which should provide compatibility with ditto AudioUnits, increase stability, processing performance and allow to work with larger projects.

Re: Recorded waveform looks clipped/compressed?
So, I'm guessing the OP is using it over sp/dif optical? That's possible, but the distortion is happening way before that. How do you access the guitar connection? There's nothing on the case to tell you what to do. It's possible that's what the "Insert" connection does. But it's more lik...

The ART Digital MPA has everything. From a nice high-Z guitar input, some tubing, and even an ADC on sp/dif, ADAT or AES out...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection
Steve, I assume you haven't seen my previous post, before you replied...
If there is a way to do stupid things, I'll find it.
Anyhow, I have today's nightly installed, next to 2.1.2, so I'll update that from time to time and check it thoroughly first, before reporting weirdness.
