Yes, Gale, you're right. Even uncompressed audio has a bitrate.
But hardly anyone uses that in pro audio, because it's confusing. OTOH, iTunes and a lot of other players use it, as a way to disguise the difference between compressed audio and uncompressed audio.

Re: Name and performer together in iTunes
Could be the name and artist was extracted from the file name. I filled in the fields when exporting. The file format was already set to wav. Now that I tried again, there's no offer to enter anything. This was with a new project and import from .mp4 Yesterday, the offer was there - maybe because th...

Re: Noise Reduction
Recording hacks is a very reliable site... http://recordinghacks.com/microphones/Behringer/C-1 They give 14 mm for the capsule, which I can accept vs 16 mm in other sources. That's because some measure outer rim, others measure membrane diameter, which is obviously a little smaller. However, they al...

Name and performer together in iTunes
Split from unrelated topic http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=90191 Yesterday, I exported a wav and filled in name and performer for that song. In iTunes, name and performer were together in the first field, name of the song. I don't do this very often, so I have no idea if it w...

Re: Noise Reduction
Most of the lower end USB mics are entirely different for a reason. It's extremely hard to make a true condenser with a 5V power supply. A true condenser needs 40 to 60 V polarization voltage. With 48 V phantom it's fairly trivial. The problem is, to transform 5V DV to 60 V DC, you need AC. Usually ...

Those numbers seem OK.
If in doubt, post a short, untreated part to the forum.

Re: Audacity is double installed?!
You probably need to restart your Mac too, before you can delete. I suspect the files would be "in use"?

Re: Noise Reduction
Like most USB mics, the C1-U has nothing common with the ordinary version. It's a completely different mic, really.

Re: Noise Reduction
Quality control is or has been a problem with Behringer. You should check for dirt on the wiring of the capsule first. And then the high impedance part of the board. Even some leftover solder flux is enough to cause all kinds of problems. I would also replace the ceramic disc capacitor with a real g...
