Re: Other Compressed Files>WAV>U-Law are saving as AIFF file
U-LAW compression and WAV file format don't usually go together. Besides, the export dialog box' only "other" entry reads "Other un compressed files". CCIT Asterisk job? ;) But I see what you mean. When you set the options for the wav file to "U-LAW compression", the fi...

Re: local radio station being recorded
Supposing the source of the radio isn't your computer, eg, it wasn't coming from your browser.
It's radio interference. It's probably AM radio? Could be the shielding on the mic itself.
What mic are you using and what computer?

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection
If we are to consider future developments that do not yet exist, I would highlight the proposal of drawing more complex spectral selections than simple rectangles. That would simply be fantastic, Steve. I have a bit of a hard time working with spectral selection as it is, now. And that kind of feat...

Re: Getting Multi-track with a zoom H5 and Audacity
Does that work on Windows though, without compiling an ASIO-enabled version of Audacity? I don't know, I am asking. It would be useful to know. I have no idea, Gale. It's a good thing you asked, as I had completely forgotten about ASIO in Audacity. And I suppose the driver for the Zoom is an ASIO d...

Re: Error 404 for 2 pages in tuts
I added a "Go Back" button (it does nothing if you have Javascript turned off). Let me know if you want to keep that. I do have a "back" button, but that won't work in this case, as I opened the page in a new tab... However, it's not for me, it's the first time user I was thinki...

Re: Need Help Recording to Audacity with 8 ch USB Mixer to M
Is there a way to actively add audio from the Mac to the mixer so I can monitor the soundboard? Use the Mac's line out to go into the mixer? But it's not exactly clear. Fi "Sound Bytes" = soundboard? I can't find the program "Sound Bytes". Do you have a link or a manufacturer's ...

Re: Searching for sound signatures
There's also Sound Recognition Lab, from Sejona. http://sound-recognition.com/application-software/sound-recognition.html It seems to be free and for Windows (with ActiveX and .net). I came across it while looking for another project from the scientific community that also does sound pattern recogni...
