Re: Generating and playing ultrasound
I suspect your speakers will not reach 100 kHz. There are very few tweeters that go up that high with any meaningful output. Try and find a cheap piezo tweeter. These can attain 100 kHz with a lot of output even from a very puny amp as their impedance is around 5 to 15 kOhms and not 4 or 8 Ohms as a...

I like my meters @-120dB, so I can see the noise floor and the real dynamic range my gear gives me at that precise moment.
It shows when I'm in a location that has particular noise...

Re: Stuttering recorded segment
I've seen more than one case, with different audio interfaces, all under El Capitan. And as you say, it's rare. I know it's a buffer thing, but have no clue what causes it. Since it can't be reproduced, I wouldn't know how to fix it. The Console shows nothing in the logs either. So I'm guessing it's...

I also don't believe any plugin can fix it. But who knows? Maybe some sort of synth?

Re: Noise reduction changing timing on audio
If you have 1 second difference, how long is the video in total? 1 sec could be "normal", if it's on a 30 min. video. That's why professionals use gear with external an clock input, that will record a time track. When they bring together audio and video from different sources. If there's n...

Re: Correcting "Wind Phasing"
I think some of the tools used in the ambisonic sphere could fix some of this effect. I've read papers about compensating for it this way when playing, not after the recording has already been made. And there won't be any ready-made tools, afaik, because all of this is very experimental. But, you ca...

You could also try one of the free VST hosts. Reaper has a fairly steep learning curve and isn't free.

Re: New User: Library question
Finder (Spotlight) search excludes system files by default. I wouldn't advise to change the default, as it will become quite slow. If you need to explore the innards of OSX, you need to learn the Terminal, where none of this idiot-proofing exists. The Finder has always been the weakest part of OSX. ...
