Re: No IN(UA-1EX) on Device Toolbar

If we're talking about the Roland/Edirol UA-1EX, isn't that an ASIO device?

I'm not sure if it is an ASIO-only device, but if that is the case, it wouldn't work with Audacity, as Audacity doesn't support ASIO.

Re: Audacity from external drive....

Recording to an external USB drive usually works well, if you only use that drive to record. As soon as you start using it to move lots of files around, fragmentation will sooner or later make it unusable for recording. Regardless, USB hard disk drives (if that is what jgcalifornia has) are much sl...

Re: Audacity from external drive....

Not only Audacity uses your system drive. Snow Leopard does too. And if you're low on ram AND low on disk space on your startup drive, Snow Leopard's caches could be eating up that valuable space, trying to swap between ram and disk. And then there's your browser, that stores gigabytes per day. And ...

Re: Audacity not opening cleanly in OSX 10.11.1 Beta-with a

From memory and FWIW: This seems to happen to people who upgraded from Mavericks to EC. The reason seems to be that either the "lsd" folder in /private/var/db/ is missing, or you may have a corrupted Launch Services database. Thanks, cyrano. So you think this might be a problem if you upgraded from...

It looks exactly like an Apple one. Are the Chinese ones copies of Apple with exact or near-to-exact same appearance or are they different? The Chinese ones look EXACTLY like the original. Unless there are spotty details, like funny text. If you have a known good one; you can compare finishing. If ...

Re: Can Audacity Remember a Microphone?

I don't have a MB Air around for testing. And I even don't know anyone doing audio on one. Could you test with another recording program? Garageband fi? I close the lid on my MB Pro often. Never a problem with Audacity, but I'm not on EC and my interface is FW connected. But even when I use a USB in...

This seems to be a MB Air problem. I've had a look at the block schematics for Eric's MB Air. Seems not too different from other Macbooks. Strange...

Re: Popping sound on all my recordings

Are you using the line-in on the Duet?

Have you tried another mic?

Which mic and preamp are you using exactly?

And, perhaps, which Audacity version are you using?
