Re: audacity 2.1.2 - clipping bar not working
Thx, Gale. That's what I suspected, but the word "clipping bar" isn't used in the manual...

Re: Problem exporting 24/96 files from Audacity
All of that is no problem with Core Audio. You set sample rate and bit-depth either in the interface's setup application or in Audio/midi setup. Every destination app will follow this when recording. And the hardware will follow that too. In the unlikely case that the app doesn't support 24 bit inpu...

Re: Problem exporting 24/96 files from Audacity
I seem to remember the Roland DUO-CAPTURE EX as a 48 kHz device. So exporting as 96 kHz won't add any quality. It just results in double size files...
Maybe this is what confuses Audacity?

Re: audacity 2.1.2 - clipping bar not working
Just tested. Mavericks, Audacity 2.1.2... For me, the waveform clipping indicator works with 16 bit audio from the internal audio. And it also works with 24 bit. Didn't test with 32 bit, as there is no real 32 bit input and this setting is useless. So I figured that I needed to set the project inter...

Re: output sound volume
What USB headset is that?
I've used Audacity extensively with Snow and never seen that behaviour. So I'm guessing the driver for the USB headset has something to do with it.

Re: Improving recording of rock concert.
That sounds as if you had some sort of AVC (automatic volume control) on while recording. It could also be in the PA system, if they use heavy compression. The best solution is to use an envelope to adjust levels. It's not auto magical though. http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/envelope_tool.html Yo...

Re: Format Error in MP3 players
Have a look at the links... The first one may provide a simple fix: create a folder inside the "MP4" folder that contains the music. Easy and simple to test. The other ones are about fake SD cards. The tricks seems to be that they sell you a card that reads like it's 4 GB, but it's 2 GB in reality. ...

Re: Format Error in MP3 players
I'm guessing all of these Chinese players use the same engine. And since none of these manufacturers check their products, but rely on the OEM chip maker to do the testing, it could go unnoticed for a long time. If we follow that line, either the OP is very good at selecting the wrong hardware, and/...

Re: White Noise is All-Consuming
That's the hardest part of the art... Knowing when to stop... I force myself to take at least 10 minutes off every hour and I never do sessions of over 4 hours. That seems to help. It lets my ears recuperate. And that's really necessary because I suffer from tinnitus and hyperacusis. If I don't paus...

Re: HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Could it be you're using the same SD card with all those players?
In that case, it could be the formatting of the SD card and not the MP3 format...
