Re: output sound volume
Jack is a Linux audio router, just like SoundFlower. Often, people who have installed SoundFlower have tried JackOSX or one of the other versions for Mac before. Removing it correctly is not always easy for most users. Having both SoundFlower and Jack is a sure way to trouble. But as you have a clea...

Re: Format Error in MP3 players
i'll follow the sun.mp3 Plays perfectly here. Just a few observations: - The file name is preceded by "i%27". Of course that translates to i'. Is that produced by uploading? - The file has been produced by "Freecorder 4 - WVAT", and that is a known adware carrier. Could be your "bad" Dell is infect...

Something is reproducing the error in the plist files. That's like wrestling a bear. Could it be Soundflower? Any chance there's a leftover from a JackOSX install?

I 've had a look. But as I can't reproduce it and this is a rare error, I'm out of suggestions...

Re: output sound volume
Sometimes Core Audio prefs get corrupt and you need to trash them. Give this a try:
- Go to ~/Library/Preferences/Audio
- Delete com.apple.audio.DeviceSettings.plist
- Delete com.apple.audio.SystemSettings.plist
- Restart your Mac

Re: Imported audio file sound is breaking up
It's an old trick. I've removed that plugin on dozens of installations in the past. It used to give better (more stable) latency for Avid setups, but that is over ten years ago. Let's say G5 era. It still gets installed with older Protools, but doesn't do anything, even for Avid HD setups. I believe...

It's "AvidCoreAudio.plugin".

Re: Imported audio file sound is breaking up
Protools... You need to go on the hunt. Protools installs a kernel extension with "core audio" in the name. It ruins audio for all other DAW's. It also pretends to lower latency for Protools, which I've never seen happen. Delete this kernel extension. Restart the Mac. Enjoy hassle free audio ...

Re: output sound volume
What's happening to Audacity, has it gone bilingual? This build is in Spanish which I know but it makes me feel schizo. I prefer to have everything in English so as not to be forced to switch to a different language. I've had this error with Audacity too, under Snow. It's been a while and I can't r...
