Both Amplify and Normalize seem to work on a selection for me...

Re: Audacity 2.1.1 crashes on OSX 10.8.5
OK Mystery solved. I'm stupid. Definitely. :? The audacity.cfg is where it should be. In: /users/user/Application support/audacity/ I've since discovered that neither locate nor find (the cli versions), nor SpotLight could find it because of permissions. Something screws things on this Mac. I have a...

Seems I'm babbling about this in two threads. I'll refer to the other thread:

Re: Audacity 2.1.1 crashes on OSX 10.8.5
If Audacity cannot read the Portable Settings folder it will look in the default location for audacity.cfg. I've deleted both portable install folders (after zipping them). No new file is created anywhere. I've checked plugins folder, Application support/audacity, /tmp and so on. I've even checked ...

Re: New Limiter in 2.1.1
I seem to have no file named "Audacity.cfg" on my system. EDIT: nor pluginregistry.cfg, nor pluginsettings.cfg... Spotlight can't find it, locate can't find it and I can't find it if I look in /Library/Application support/audacity/ The .cfg files are in your user library ~/Library/Application Suppo...

Re: popping and cracking
What setting up Audio/Midi setup avoids, is having unnecessary up or down sampling in Core Audio. And you really need it for anything that touches surround sound. It isn't a problem if you only record from one source and have only Audacity open. There's no up/downsampling in sight, Audacity can talk...

Re: Audacity 2.1.1 crashes on OSX 10.8.5
1) I deleted the settings directory, which had been generated by v2.0.6. 2) Started up v2.1.1, and entered the locations for the Lame and ffmgep libraries manually. 3) Closed 2.2.1 4) Started the old 2.0.6, which complained about missing libraries, now. 5) Entered, again, the right places where Lam...

Re: Opening AAC stream ripped from DAB+ radio
Browsers on Mavericks: FF shows the player, plays but no sound. Safari shows the player, plays, but only regular 1 KHz beeps. Chrome shows the warning that the Quicktime internet plugin isn't supported and a broken plugin window. Audio apps: Audacity can't import it. The result is silence. iTunes do...
