Re: ACX check
Why don't you use something like SpeedFan control? http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php Setting minimum fan speed a bit higher should avoid the fans starting high speed, imho. It will probably require a bit of fiddling. Fans shouldn't go to high rev with audio recording. You'd also might want to look ...

Re: AGPtek tape device not recognized
ALL* these manuals from ALL manufacturers show the wrong name. Apparently, they promised to name the hardware according to the buyer's preferences and promptly forgot about it. Meanwhile, the manuals were made, of course including the name. So it's not only the AGPtek, but all the others too that sh...

Re: 2.1.1 Crash on startup - Yosemite 10.10.4
Ram had crossed my mind too. Some third party ram that was fine under older systems started failing under Mavericks or Yosemite. These errors usually only show up with AV programs, or when copying large numbers of files to multiple locations and with bittorrent clients. There isn't any ram test on t...

Re: 2.1.1 Crash on startup - Yosemite 10.10.4
I'd try opening the installer again, just in case Seagate provides an uninstaller. Sometimes, these can be selected automatically, by pressing the alt button, while double clicking the installer. If that doesn't work, you'll have to do it manually: Follow the instruction given to uninstall Diagnosti...

Re: ACX check
Yeah, sure. It's like 20 Hz to 20 KHz or so, nothing to rely on. No graph. But that's not unusual at all, I'm afraid. And it's advertised as an LDC. But that's normal too

Re: ACX check
I'm curious and I've never seen the Focusrite CM25 mic. So I did some digging... It's a high output cardio SDC with very little self noise. But even recording hacks hasn't got that much: http://recordinghacks.com/microphones/Focusrite/CM25 Another thing is that it seems to have a bit of a proximity ...

Re: 2.1.1 Crash on startup - Yosemite 10.10.4
Just a hunch: I'd get rid of the "FreeAgent Pro" USB driver. It's not needed to mount your disk, and you're probably better off without it. Unless you use the included backup software. These drivers have a bad rep. Seagate and WD are really the same company these days. The WD version of the driver c...

Re: Multi track freezing during playback
Have you tried using wav in stead of mp3?
It avoids decompression on every track independently. Anyhow, I wouldn't even think about using mp3's for anything but plain simple stereo playback. In any DAW.

Re: Passing the ACX test, BUT does it sound any good?
And the 10 KHz peak is almost gone... Seems the Eyeball is made of some denser foam. And that's almost transparent for high frequencies. And probably there's also a resonance goin' on in the cavity of the Eyeball. The raw recording also has a tremendous amount of low frequency noise. And that's the ...

Re: 44100Hz to 22050Hz quality problem
Audio with 44.1 KHz sample rate's highest possible frequency is just under 22 KHz.
When you lower the sample rate to 22 KHz, the highest possible frequency is 11 KHz. Obviously, there is some sound between 11 and 22 KHz.
