Re: Lock tool bar arrangement
You don't have the meters wide enough. Drag the meters a little wider and everything should stay in place. Ok. Expanded the meters and it'll stay put down to about 13 1/2 seconds. Below that it generates another row and puts stuff there, but at least I can go to full screen without it changing. Re....

Re: Lock tool bar arrangement
I'll try to reply to both of Steve's questions in this one post. You would need an option somewhere for locking the current arrangement - where would that go? what would that look like? what would be the default state? how does the user turn it on/off? how do you make it clear to users that it only ...

Re: Lock tool bar arrangement
Responding to Steve's idea of a more scalable arrangement, I disagree totally. I tried to get that arrangement and try as I might I could not get that exact arrangement and when I got close to it and resized the window just a little it rearranged everything. There's no ideal arrangement that will st...

Re: Lock tool bar arrangement
I agree with Cyrano that the moving around of the tool bars just isn't done anywhere I know of and is a pain. That said, it works if one restricts oneself to one window size. Scaling the tool bars would be at the bottom of my list of solutions, i.e. better than nothing, but certainly not a optimal s...

Re: Lock tool bar arrangement
Sorry but I don't understand how you expect Audacity to know where you want the toolbars when you resize the window. I'm sorry I wasn't clear. I don't expect Audacity to know where I want them! I want to put them where I want them and then have them stay there relative to the left top left corner o...

Re: Lock tool bar arrangement
Hi Steve, So if you make the window narrower than the toolbars, what should happen? For me, if there wasn't enough space, I would opt to deal with the issue myself by rearranging them in the order I want and not what the program feels should be done. This is why I mentioned to have a Preferences set...

Lock tool bar arrangement
I've been looking for a way to lock the tool bar arrangement so it doesn't shift around when I change the window size. Have I missed something or can an option be included in the Preferences to allow that?

Re: Audacity 2.1.2 Alpha - Zoom in moves cursor
That's interesting as I have never had that issue here. I wonder what could be triggering that. Would be interesting if you got the El Capitan public beta, now the Gold Master RC1, and tried it there since in my case El Capitan eliminated my need for the smaller buffer on recording, even before 2.1....

Re: Audacity 2.1.2 Alpha - CPU usage
If it makes any difference my typical CPU use with Audacity recording is about 15%. Maybe your Mini with the i5 has more muscle than my MBP. GarageBand draws about the same CPU as Audacity and it's not displaying as much changing stuff so it seems to me that Audacity isn't too far out of line when ...

Re: Audacity 2.1.2 Alpha - Zoom in moves cursor
Interesting. This was just playback, not actually on the recording, correct? So reducing the recording buffer helped that?
