Re: Adding a field to Metadata

Thanks. Had read that when I downloaded the new version, but apparently I forgot what I had read. Is this on the bug list yet? It's not a big deal to me, just would be handy.

Adding a field to Metadata

I've searched the help and haven't found an answer so I'm asking here - Is there a way to add a field to the Metadata that will be recoginzed in another program? I'm thinking specifically of iTunes. iTunes has a metadata field named "grouping" that I would like to set in Audacity and have recoginize...

Re: Zoom Normal (Cmd+2) cursor position

Pardon my ignorance, what is meant by "Bumping"?

What needs to happen to bring this to a conclusion as everyone seems to agree it needs fixing?

Re: Carbon Component Manager going away on OSx

I assume they mean PortAudio v19. That is the audio API that Audacity uses. Yes, PortAudio depends on the Carbon framework, but only so that it supports earlier than OS X 10.6: http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.audio.portaudio.devel/12511. Audacity 2.1.2 when released will drop support for earli...

Re: Carbon Component Manager going away on OSx

Hi Gale, We know about the move away from Carbon, but it is not believed to be urgent. As far as I know the Version 3 Audio Units API is still under development, even though support for it is included in El Capitan. The Version 3 API enables packaging AU effects (Including version 2 effects) as apps...

Carbon Component Manager going away on OSx

I was wondering if some work was in progress to deal with the up and coming issue of the Carbon Component Manager going away on OSx. I get the following in the Console: 12/12/15 9:32:09.236 AM Audacity[17490]: 09:32:09.236 WARNING: 140: This application, or a library it uses, is using the deprecated...

Re: Lost data in 2.1.2 Alpha Oct. 26 build.

You know that preacher's delivery better than I do, but to me, most of "your" before "focus" is missing. Why would he pause between those two words? That pause is normal for him. He uses lots of pauses and it makes it time consuming to edit because in those pauses the mic often picks up audience no...

Re: Lost data in 2.1.2 Alpha Oct. 26 build.

So the problem is either side of 3 seconds in the unedited recording? No, the problem is at 3.225 sec. into the "improved audio" which is at 54+ minutes into the full recording. I just copied the immediate area around the problem so you could hear the lead in to it. If you open the recording in Aud...

Re: Removing a specific signature from audio

Thanks Steve. I had thought of doing that, but hadn't figured out how yet. Prevention is probably the best solution.

Re: Lost data in 2.1.2 Alpha Oct. 26 build.

Here is a better audio section of the offending area. The first one posted had the bad section amplified where this one is at the original level.
