I am trying to import an M4A file into the beta version, but I keep getting the following error message:
Audacity recognized the type of the file C:......... but was unable to import it
Is there a valid reason for this?

Re: Audacity keeps crashing out
Success! I trawled the web and came across the following site - http://www.codecguide.com/fix_for_flash_sound_problems.htm. It looks like there was a problem with my codecs, but after running the checks detailed on that page, my audio is back - and Audacity is working again! I'd be interested to hea...

Re: Audacity keeps crashing out
I've had a look at all of the settings in iTunes and I cannot find any way of seeing what audio device it is using. I have tried running audio through Windows Media Player, and this works (although I do have a Windows Installer message pop up after I try to run a file, it asks me to "Insert the Roxi...

Re: Audacity keeps crashing out
I have changed the settings in Sounds and Audio Devices so that the Windows Default sound scheme is applied - and I do not hear any sounds either. If I try to preview the sounds, the "play" button is greyed out. Hmm. I have been in touch with Symantec to see if the issue is Norton 360 related, they ...

Re: Audacity keeps crashing out
I have now uninstalled the Echo Indigo completely and am running on the standard audio (Conexant AMC). I still have the same problems where Audacity crashes as soon as I try to open it, and also I can still not hear any audio streamed from web pages such as MySpace, YouTube etc. I can hear audio fro...

Re: Audacity keeps crashing out
Hi, that sounds like it makes perfect sense. Echo Indigo does use ASIO drivers, as far as I am aware. I'm not sure I understand why Audacity can't use them - how do I fix this? Also, how can I tell if my internet browser (Firefox and/or IE7) is outputting to channels 1 & 2? Thanks for your help. Che...

Re: Audacity keeps crashing out
Hi all, I am just joining this post now but I have a similar problem - I get the same error message but it occurs as soon as I run Audacity. The program does not open at all, I just get an error message that says "audacity.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconv...

Re: Recording speed changes
No, the setup is analogue, I have two technics 1200 turntables connected to a numark mixer which then plugs into my amplifier, I am using the record output from my mixer into the line in on my echo indigo sound card. This problem has manifested itself further however - now when I play back any audio...

Recording speed changes
Hello again all Question number 2 from me - and I do search before I post so I hope this hasn't been covered already. I tried to record a drum loop from vinyl earlier today, just a 16-bar loop that I wanted to chop and change using Reason & Recycle. All seemed to go fine until I played back the reco...

Re: Recording audio tape - sound levels too low
thanks - I did it off the walkman in the end and used the amplify tool, it seemed to do the trick. Far too much feedback and distortion when using the mixer/amp combination, possibly because the audio in & out from my Echo Indigo were both routed through the mixer?
