I mean- I would like to see how different frequencies present in the final mix, like u have on old amplifiares in form of moving strip...

Re: The record is sooo quiet!

One more thing.

when i play the recorded material back in Audacity it has some volume.
i dont touch anything and export the file as a mp3 or wave and then play it in windows media- and it is more quiet.
Why does it happen and how to avoid this?

The record is sooo quiet!

I recorded drums from keyboard, using a rule " not exceed 0.5 on waveform". I fed the inout with that power signal without any distortion. Then the same with guitars, bass, vocal. When i mix it into two channels and mp3 it is very quiet comparing to market CD's. So then i went back to mixer and trie...

clipping

Two questions.
1. I recorded as recommended on level not exceeding 0.5 waveform- and after recording a few trakcs the sum gives me a clip- I mean it's distorted ( there's 6 tracks, none exceding 0.5, and there's distortion)
2. It seems to be quite quiet when i record up to this level, is it normal?

Audacity 32/24 bits and hardware 24

I use Audacity 1.3. Help says recommended settings is 32 bits float, best quality. As an interface I use Tascam122l, which gives me recording in 24 bits. Does it interfere when I set up 32 in Audacity with my 24 bits in interface? Will the record be still in 24 bits ( as tascam allows) or- God forbi...
