Re: Adding tags to an mp3 file
Thanks for your help. I went into iTunes and added the tags that way. Easy enough. I'm a little concerned though about the secondary issue of the sound quality getting diminished by processing through Audacity. Is there a way of getting the mp3 settings to match those in the source file, so that the...

Adding tags to an mp3 file

I proceeded as follows: Open Audacity Import the file Export the file with added tags (saved the tags to a template file). Everything seemed to work as expected, except that the size of the new file is about 6.9 KB whi...

Computer locks up with Audacity 2.0
I just installed 2.0 and then opened a project that I had created in 1.3. I normalized the audio, then hit the play button. My PC just locked up and I couldn't even recover with ctl-alt-delete. Had to forcibly reset the pc. I tried it again and it happened again.

How do Audacity projects work?
Specifically, what exactly is being saved when you save a project? I am working on some projects where I'm reading in some analog audio consisting of about 60 minutes of spoken dialogue between two people. When I look in the <projectname>_data folder that appears when I save the project, I see hundr...

Re: Unwanted Pitch shift
OK thanks. I will try that. My default rate was 44100. I also notice that the "recording device" in my AudioIO tab was set to Microsoft Sound Mapper -input. The recording tutorial says not to select this if you are running Windows XP (which I am). Could this have any effect?

Re: Unwanted Pitch shift
I am also having a pitch shift problem. In my case I am recording from an analog source and it is shifting down about a half step. I'm using version 1.2.4 . Any ideas?
