Re: Latest

Trebar....what did you do to help the vocals in the .flac file? And, just so you guys know, I did compress each track. But, I also edited the exported MP3 and compressed it again because the MP3 volume wasn't where it should be as compared to the .AUP file. In the .AUP file it was just below clippin...

Improving an old recording

This is an older song of mine. But I recently re-recorded all of it using Audacity 2.0.5. Everything on it is done by only me. You can get some very cool recordings with Audacity!!

Re: VST's in 2.0.5

I understand. But, why then is it reading the VST's in the "VST Bridge" folder if you're saying that "it will not see VST plug-ins in a "VST Bridge" folder in the root of the Audacity installation folder"? It is. My VST's don't exist anywhere else. Plus, in the plugin import dialog, it tells you whi...

Re: What cable do i need?

Koz, you're absolutely correct. Using a pro mic into a computer can cause severe clipping issues. And very true about ambient room noise. But, if he uses an actual computer mic, puts it directly against the output speaker, adjusts the volume correctly for that speaker so it doesn't clip in Audacity,...

Re: VST's in 2.0.5

No no. I'm saying that previously all my VST's were in the "Plugins" folder, or whatever it was, in the 1.3 folder and 2.0.5 wasn't reading the location correctly. So, I put all my VST's in the 2.0.5 folder in the directory "VST Bridge" and then deleted the 1.3 folder then rescanned the plugins. Eve...

Re: What cable do i need?

What type of amp is it? Is it just a head type (such as a powered mixer head)? similar to http://www.videosaysitall.com/forsale/peavey/DSCN4779.JPG If so, there may be a 1/4" line-out jack that you could connect a typical guitar cord or 1/4" PA speaker cord to then get a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter for the...

Inherent split clips within a track

32bit Windows XP 2gb RAM Audacity 2.0.5 Many times in song creation I have the need to insert silence within a given track to move a part of the track a little further down the timeline to line up specifically where I want it within the song. Typically I will just select an amount of existing silen...

Re: Upper length bar playback problem

Another solution that I've found useful is to just click near where you want to be and then use the keyboard arrows to fine tune the required location. I believe the amount of movement using the keyboard arrows depends on the zoom level. But I use the keyboard arrows a lot to get exactly where I want.
