I want to make it clear that my mic came with a cable with a female XLR at one end and a 6.3 mm jack at the other, so I assume this is what the manufacturer expected me to use. I don't know much about various connectors, but I can tell you that my mic does have 3 pins on the bottom, and the other end of the cord that came with it has your standard 6.3 mm audio jack, so I just used an adaptor.
