Re: 1.3.6 Click Removal and Export Multiple?

People put one Label between two songs on a single timeline and are shocked when they only get one export. You need to put a Beginning Clip Marker at the [/u]Beginning[/u] of each clip you want exported. So the above example calls for a Label at 00:00 and then another one between the two songs. Tha...

There are... but the reason I came across QMC and MediaCoder was that I was looking for a tool to extract audio from DVD's (.VOB) And those were hard to find!

Re: MP3 Bitrate help?

I realize that I'm on the Audacity forum... but I think there is better software to do this... Don't kick me out please!!!!! ;) I just wrote something about it here: http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1534&start=10#p32703 QMC and MediaCoder are both under GNU. You can batch pr...

Re: mp3 Lame Encoder not found

The original question was posted well over a year ago, so hopefully they have resolved it by now  Oops... I didn't notice. Meanwhile our posts seem to have crossed. I've edited a lot in the time you put yours (and went downstairs for some coffee ;) ). Well.... let's consider this topic clo...

Re: mp3 Lame Encoder not found

I guess the standard procedure doesn't work for you then?: I agree with stevethefiddler that 1.3 is far better. Labeled beta doesn't mean it's crap. The developers did a pretty good job on it already! (chapeau  ) By the way: recently I downloaded QuickMediaConverter and MediaCoder. Both are...

Re: 1.3.6 Click Removal and Export Multiple?

This is getting weird... I did a test run on my laptop, and inserted some labels on the fly. When I stopped the recording and checked the labels, I saw a label right at 00:00 named [MR] which I thought didn't put there myself. Repeating this on my home computer didn't get me the [MR] label. Then I f...

Re: Multiple ID3 tags

From the Wiki: If all the tracks to be exported have common information except for Title and Track Number, you may prefer set Metadata Editor not to appear prior to the export step. Any necessary edits or additions to the common tags can be done at File > Open Metadata Editor prior to the export ste...

Re: Multiple ID3 tags

I noticed this... though this solution works, it is a bit awkward to fill in the metadata two times and at two different places. In 1.3.4. the default for the album name was (automatic). Isn't it technically possible to write it this way: that you can remove the (automatic) and fill in the album nam...

Re: what is the best sound card ?

I have often heard of this (mostly in the advertising information for external sound cards), but in my experience with dozens of different sound cards I have never experienced any such problem on full size computers. This is not the case with laptops however, and I have found that lap tops are very...

Re: what is the best sound card ?

Personally I would recommend ANY external card. But if you really want the cool stuff, go to a music store instead of a computer store. Internal cards often show problems related to the power supply of the computer (e.g. 50 Hz hum). This interference acts on the analogue part of the card. With an ex...
