Selecting a long waveform quickly
I am using Audacity ver 2.1.3 and Windows 10. Just a quick question about selecting a large (hour long) section of the audio waveform for deletion. After recording a 3 hour long audio file with Audacity, I wanted to highlight and delete the last hour of the recording. Highlighting an hour long secti...

Normalization
I am not very experienced using Audacity, and I realize that this is a very elementary question. I am using Windows 10, and my version of Audacity is 2.1.3. I have a question about normalization. I used Audacity to make a 2 channel recording of a streaming talk show which is about 1 hour and 18 minu...

Quickly getting to the beginning and ending of a recording
I am just starting to learn about Audacity, so my question is very basic. After I record something, how do I quickly jump back to the beginning of the recording so that I can edit out any blank space which was recorded before the beginning of the recorded audio. Also, once I've done that, then how c...

Re: Trouble recording with Audacity
I was trying to record streaming internet audio. I'm trying to understand why what I was trying to record is important to solving this problem. I ask this because, no matter what I was trying to record, even if it were just dead silence, still (and please tell me if I am wrong), I don't think that i...

WASAPI loopback recordings do not start [CLOSED]
I am using the latest version of Audacity, version 2.1.3. Also, I am running windows 10, 64 bit. I thought that I had my problems with Audacity solved. However, I am still having a problem. I have Recording set to "WASAPI". I have "Recording Device" (under Edit-->Preferences-->Devices) set to "Speak...

Unable to record. Recording cursor does not appear [SOLVED]
Thanks for the help. Under Edit-->Preferences-->Devices I had "Recording Device" set to "Realtek Digital Output (Optical)" I reset it to "Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)". That fixed the problem. Thanks again

Re: Unable to record. Recording cursor does not appear.
I was trying to record internet streaming audio. But this may not be relative to the problem because, even if I were recording nothing at all, the recording cursor should still move across the screen from left to right, as long as "Sound Activated Recording" is turned off. But it does not. You said ...

Unable to record. Recording cursor does not appear [SOLVED]
I am using Windows 10 64 bit. I just downloaded Audacity version 2.1.3 Note that before I downloaded the latest version, I had the same problem with the last version. Downloading the latest version did not solve this problem. Here's the problem: When I click on the Record button, the recording curso...

Audacity recording level
I am now using Audacity version 2.1.2 and the Windows 10 operating system. About a month ago, I was still running Windows 7. I used Audacity to record streaming audio from various web sites using the Windows Explorer web browser. Everything worked fine. But now, I am running Windows 10. I found that...
