What about trying OSS then? Got it going with the OSS driver and the "Default ALSA" option which seemed very odd. However I have now managed to get back to the ALSA driver and it works using the "ADC Capture/Standard PCM Playback" options on record and playback. Thanks for the help - I don't think ...

I am already using ALSA and the recording and playback works - but only for 0.6 seconds!
