Yes: 32-bit, and not VST3 nor VSTi.

Voxengo's free amp sim Boogex works in Audacity on Windows.

Before you bin it, try Audacity's (free) competitor OCENaudio,
it comes in Mac flavour & recognises ASIO drivers.
