Re: Hum & Noise When Recording From Microphone in Windows 10
When I try to record with my HP laptop's built-in mic using Audacity 2.3.3, the mic level is low and I get a hum along with some low level noise - kind of like radio static. Windows Voice Recorder usually doesn't work at all but when I can manage to get it working, it does the same thing. Check tha...

Re: Need help improving recorded acoustic piano sound
My (attached) audio recording sounds bad, and I need suggestions to make it sound better ... The badness is called clipping . Audacity's Clip fix removes the worst of it ... before-after Audcaity's clip-fix.flac but better not to have the problem in the first place by allowing headroom when you rec...

Re: weird modulation(?) on audio recording - please help!
Good heavens! Even listening to that sample there's a marked difference. How did you do that? There is an Audcaity plugin which can provide an equalization curve which will make source audio sound like some target reference audio . Now the bad news: the current version of Audacity is not able to im...

Re: weird modulation(?) on audio recording - please help!
Well, I just don't know... I'm truly stumped. How can that make any difference? If the headphones are on your head (or in the booth) when you did your plugged-unplugged comparison , the results are consistent with headphone-bleed: sound leaking from the headphones being picked-up by the mic. It's n...

Re: weird modulation(?) on audio recording - please help!
Here's something weird, I removed the headphone jack during a record, I'm *sure* I can hear a change in the quality of my voice at the 9-second mark upon remoing the jack. pluginplugout.wav I think so too: visibly the spectrum is less craggy after the headphones are unplugged ... ''want to know mor...

Re: How do I export a track in its playback speed?
If you want "slower pace without changing the pitch",shahrukhayan wrote: ↑Mon May 18, 2020 1:44 amI want to export it in a slower pace without changing the pitch ...
you have to apply the change tempo effect, then save (export) the file.
[There is also a change speed effect, but that will change the pitch].

Re: weird modulation(?) on audio recording - please help!
... Just trying to whittle the casues down. As I say, this never occured with the NTG1 and I was on cans for monitoring then too. One microphone characteristic I forgot to mention is the sensitivity-pattern. Using a narrow sensitivity-pattern, (say super-cardioid "shotgun", NTG1), will me...
