IIRC Limiter in Audcaity 2.x.x is a Nyquist plugin.
Nyquist plugins can only process a certain amount of audio in one go, (~1 hour ?).
Try applying the limiter on shorter sections.

[ BTW Limiter is now built-in to Audacity effects ].

There needs to be a gap between the pop-shield and the mic for it to work optimally, (~4").

Can add stocking-material over a pop-shield to increase its pop-stopping power,
(if you add too many layers the high-frequencies will be attenuated).

Appending recording is now the default setting in Audacity.
If you want to go back to the old way where it always starts recording from zero,
go to Audacity Preferences : Recording, & tick "Record on a new track",

You need a DAW with piano-roll. (Audacity does not have that feature, nor can it play virtual instruments ).

Could AutoDuck the comfort noise with the voice, so it is attenuated when people are speaking.
