Re: Remixing songs

If it is a mono (not stereo) mic then not possible.
You could try making a pseudo stereo version of your mono recording ...
make a dual mono and apply different equalization to each track, (say bassy on one side trebley on the other), then make a stereo pair.

There are different types of WAV

I used a codec analyser thingy (not an Audacity feature ) on your sample and this was the result ...

The "float"ing point bit is why your sample is only playable on some devices.

When you save ("Export") a file as a WAV, select a WAV format which does not have the "float" bit ...

Could attach a short sample of the distorted wav

It is possible to attach a few seconds of a wav to a post if it is put in a zip file, (example attached).

If a short (~5sec) example of the distorted wav was posted (in a zip) it may help identify the cause.

A long shot

Particular* bass frequencies in the organ music are overly loud and are modulating the sound producing an intermittent vibrato-like effect. There is a self-ring-modulator plugin from David R. Sky which does the same when its “Lowpass filter” is used … http://www.shellworld.net/~davidsky/selfring.ny ...

Re: When deleting audio it changes the pitch

You may be unintentionally changing the sample rate on your processed audio, which changes the pitch.

Re: filtering distortion

Audacity does have "clip fix" to reconstruct the flattened peaks and troughs of an over-amplified sound. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=4377#p17108 BTW it is possible to attach a few (10?) seconds of audio (e.g. WAV or mp3) to a post here if you put it in a ZIP file. If you poste...

Re: Podcast Problems

Your recording is highly distorted by compression artefacts, (I have attached an “before & after” example of this phenomenon as an mp3 in zip file). My suggestions to improve the podcast … 1. Convert the original stereo 44000Hz recording into a mono 22050Hz version. The “Tracks” menu in Audacity 1.3...

Re: using the noise reduction in version 1.3.7

If the noise is quiet then amplify the noise, e.g. normalise it, before sampling a bit for the “noise profile”. This will make the noise loud enough for you to hear clearly so you can select a bit which is typical noise and doesn't contain any atypical sounds, (e,g, faint background sounds of voices...

Re: Help with sound effect for World Of Warcraft addon

The MorphVox tool has some nice effects, but after listening to some of the samples available on their website (e.g. the demon voice and some others) its not even close to what I'm after. I have the basic clips created via the text-to-speech tool available on AT&T labs site [ http://www.research.at...
