Re: Volume surges after compression (audiobook recording)

IMO 1, 2 & 3 are all too bassy. If you have not got a real-time equalizer, either get a free plugin one for Audacity, such as ... https://www.voxengo.com/product/marvelgeq/ https://www.tokyodawn.net/tdr-nova/5/ (the free version) (or download Audacity's (free) competitor OCENaudio which has one ...

Re: Audacity Mastering Process for ACX

Here is a 'daytime' recording of that same test clip. There's no obvious background noise in room tone in this raw clip...but it's when I apply the mastering process that I hear the room tone really hum. Catskill Farm Raw Day Recording.wav (864.04 KiB) I can see a faint bassy tone at 130-140Hz whic...

I too would be grateful for help with de-essing. Attached is an excerpt from the raw file ... Abdiel S.wav (1.1 MiB) There is constantly too much energy in the sibilance-zone between 7.5kHz & 8kHz, visible on the spectrogram ... ''No sin is perceived'' spectrogram.png Which could be corrected w...

Re: OldSkoolVerb - Can't Get It Into Effects

Windows 10 Effort: I placed the 64 bit VST option into the Program Files(x86)/Audacity/Plugins/ area... Currently Audacity on Windows is still 32-bit, so can only use 32-bit plugins, even if the computer is 64-bit. Repeat with a 32 bit VST option. [ BTW Boogex plugin has OldSkoolVerb reverb built-i...

Re: Simple Audacity Forum Voice Test

... what I couldn't figure out is what button you push to get the undesirable parts of the spectrogram to go away and leave only the desired parts. One way to do that is to type in the frequency-range of interest in spectrogram settings , (There is also vertical zooming , but than is off by default...
