Re: Hum removal plug-in
Hold on a mo' I think you’re onto something. By attenuating the notching when a spike occurs there is no Gibbs ringing after the spike. Attached is an example which uses a modified version of your de-hum plug-in ... 1st. A hummy recording of my neighbour slamming their rubbish bin lid (and their doo...

Here’s an example with limey 50Hz hum, then dehummed using my plugin , then the hummy original again, then your dehummer applied with ...

Re: How can one person sound as a complete choir?
One major disadvantage with creating "choirs" from a single recording is that there is a tendency for it to produce a "phasing" effect which can make it sound sort of "electronic". Saxual reproduction
The choir was made from multiple copies of the first sample with changes to the pitch, speed, start time and pan position. The sustain of the note was also adjusted by editing (cut and cross-fade) to provide two versions of the voice. The whole lot was then mixed and stereo reverb (Freeverb) added....

Re: Resuming recording post editing
Hi, I feel like an idiot but I just cannot figure this out. When creating a new file (actually a lecture) in Audacity, when paused and wishing to delete the last 5 or 10 seconds (a mistake), how do I delete that section but then resume the lecture? It seems that, although only paused, I cannot resu...

I've got vista too, I suspect the "USB2 Enhanced" references in device manager mean usb 2.0 ...jonasjar wrote:How do I tell which one I have? Ive checked the hardware manager on the usb items, but cant seem to find anything there.

Re: Ringing in Conversion from Wav to MP3
If combining the stereo tracks to mono in audacity is creating a ringing effect, (possibly a comb effect if one mic is further from the lecturer than the other), then instead of combining the stereo tracks (L+R) to produce a mono one, just discard either L or R track and make the remaining one mono....
