The first "after" has ...Compression (Blockfish-freebie), Leveller (Audacity) 1 application @ "heaviest", reverb (Anwida-freebie).
The second is same as 1st but flanged using David Sky's Linear Flanger Audacity plug-in, (copy attached: NY file in ZIP).

Re: How about removing the stereo pops from mono records?
You want what is common to both L and R and reject everything else ? : that's "centre pan isolation", a.k.a. "centre pan extraction". The result of the inversion trick is what is not common to both channels: i.e. "centre pan removal", (the opposite of what you want). There is a free plugin which wor...

Re: how to get an electric guitar distortian sound
maybe there is a distortion plug in out there somewhere on the web? ... you could also apply some heavy compression afterwards to get some more. 10-1 on the entire signals should do the job. Before you try to find a distortion plug-in try one or two applications of "Leveller" effect on the "Heavies...

I've applied Chris's compressor with default values except compression ratio set to 0.8 , the result can be heard here . No compressor or other processing can amplify what isn't there: the result of multiplying zero by anything is still zero. If you can find the original recording (before any noise ...

Re: Censoring music
Censor bleep is 1000Hz sine wave, (you can generate this in Audacity: "Generate" menu, "Tone"). Some reverse the swearing in music rather than bleeping it out, so it cannot be understood, (unless you play it backwards). In Audacity "Reverse" is on the "Effects" drop down menu. The offending words m...

Re: Changing voice (not just pitch)
That actually sounds quite good. Do you mean the Lich-ish 3 2 1 0 sample ? , that was slowed and pitch shifted by about -20% and has chorus and reverb. If you want to change your voice these links may be of use ... http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=38092#p38092 But in my experience the ...

The most you can get away with is about a -10% pitch change before it sounds weird,
then you could apply Bassboost at 200Hz ...

Re: power hum when recording from tape reel machine
... what a fancy frequency response graph, I suppose its generated by audacity? Yes frequency analysis is on the "Analyze" drop doown menu, then click on "plot spectra" (which produces a graph of the selected bit of the track). With my lousy hearing I cant hear any difference between the clips. The...
