Real Reverb example
If you have a stereo recording you can remove the echo/reverb by centre pan isolation (Kn0ck0ut) Stereo Airport smoking announcement, Before-After centre pan isolation, (kn0ck0ut).mp3 The voice is common to both channels but typically the echoes reach the different channels at different times so are...

Re: Clap Hands for Cleaner Sound
Here’s a before-after example of echo reduction using the time-shift spectral-subtraction technique I described above. The “before” has had plenty of synthetic echo added Before-After echo reduction by time-shifted spectral subtraction method,.mp3 It does remove a lot of the echo but you can hear sp...

Re: Clap Hands for Cleaner Sound
I have tried to reduce echo by spectrally subtracting a time-shifted version of the original echoey recording from itself , (the time shift equal to the echo time). This does help a bit, but adds another very faint distorted echo at twice the original echo time. If there were multiple echoes with di...

This is where to download Audacity from ... http://audacityteam.org/ BTW Audacity is free. I'm guessing you have mistakenly downloaded a free trial version of another audio editor, nothing to do with Audacity, which repeatedly inserts a spoiler phrase, the "voice logo", into any project you create, ...

Re: Is there a way to remove robot-like echo from voice?
I don't know of any filters that will even help a little. What about hyperexpanding a copy and spectrally subtract it from the original (using Kn0ck0ut) ?, e.g. ... Before-After attempt at echo reduction mp3.mp3 It's a little better. Update: it just occurred to me an expander would be a simpler way...

Re: ?stereo to mono, keeping the highs from each side?
Trebor, I understand the gist of your suggestions, but don't know what "advancing a track by a few samples" means or how to do it.. I should have said retard rather than advance  ... Split the stereo into dual mono, then add ("generate") a few samples of silence at the start of one of the mon...

Re: ?stereo to mono, keeping the highs from each side?
To avoid the destructive interference when converting stereo to mono, resulting in loss of high frequencies, two ideas come to mind .. 1. Put the tracks very slightly out of sync by advancing one of the tracks by a few samples before converting to mono. or 2. applying a minute imperceptible amount o...
