Re: Audacity noob needs help with filtering noise
Using noise reduction and other filters typically won’t make incomprehensible speech pop out from noise. If your wetware (brain), which is better than current computer hardware, cannot make out what is being said it probably still won’t be comprehensible after noise reduction. The stuff you’ve seen ...

Re: Heartbeat Manipulation
... This is the whole track just moved up one octave... That pitch shifted heartbeat sound has an interesting tense quality but it’s very synthetic: it’s like a robot with a low battery :) . This (free) harmonic generator plugin for Audacity adds more high frequencies but still sounds natural, e.g....

Re: Heartbeat Manipulation
you mention a pitch shift on the clip, can you explain or link me to more information on that and how I would apply it in this instance? I mean, pitch shift is a pretty self explanatory concept but I'm not ignorant to the fact that I don't possess a vast amount of knowledge on differences in Hz, pi...

Re: Speak 'N Say Voice
I'm looking more for something like "The Cow Says: Moo" Just saw "The Cow Says: Moo" video. That sounds like a vinyl record rather than a digitized recording. For that you want a narrow band equalization (200-4000Hz ish ), and some "needle on record" noise, e.g. here ,...

Re: Speak 'N Say Voice
This free windows software produces nasty "speak ’n’ spell" speech ... http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/Audio/sayit/Freeware.htm Bear in mind "speak ’n’ spell" is incomprehensible to anyone under 30. You could try this free "decomator" effect on your own voice, ...

Re: Different sound levels on an interview
Dynamic range compression could even out the differences in volume.
Audacity comes with a compressor (in the "Effect" menu), but this free plug-in for Audacity works better.

Re: How Do I Get a good reverb setting for Guitar or vocals
Perhaps you could suggest some better settings (and which version of the plug-in you are using)? The version I'm using is "ANWIDA Soft DX Reverb Light" , no version number, dated "23 December 2003 12:21:34", which I downloaded on the 16th March 2010. My suggestion would be to pi...
