If your car stereo supports MP3 CDs you can go that route. The front panel of the stereo should have a little "MP3" logo on it if it does. Or you could check your owner's manual. If you can do that, (use mp3 instead of WAV), you could get about 10x more on the CD, depending on the compres...

If you are using Audacity 1.2 upgrade to 1.3.12 (Beta) ... Using the standard (not the latest) Audacity noise reduction, I've found that boosting* the high frequencies of the "noise only" sample before obtaining a "noise profile" from it improves the result: proportionally more high frequencies removed => less snaky sibilance. Mr Davies ...
