Re: Amplifying very very low audio
I tried straight amplification. 40 dB and it is audible, but the hiss in the background make it impossible to listen to comfortably. The words can be made out. My suggestion would be to remove all the frequencies above 4KHz to reduce the hiss, then amplify. Audacity's equalizer, in "effect&quo...

Re: Clipping or Distortion on Vocal High Notes of Ripped Aud
Here is the promised 6 Second Clip. The note is an "E". That has distortion from clipping, (something is turned up too high) . I've had a go at improving it, but I've just exchanged one form of distortion for another ... Oh, Quand Je Dors-6 Sec Clip_before-After-.mp3 Sorry but IMO the onl...

Unfortunately the sound signal was not up to standard and won't do. There is a volume slider control in Windows audio devices to control the level of the "line-in" signal ... http://wiki.audacityteam.org/w/images/8/87/Xpcp.PNG http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer_Toolbar_Issues#Using_t...

... the reason I have him down is because occasionally he accidentally blows on his wireless mic or saliva hits it or something and it makes a loud sound. It's hard to explain but I could easily find a clip of it if you wanted to hear. Maybe the "loud sound" is sibilance , which is treata...

Re: Fixing volume/pitch differences between recordings?
On Ezekiel000’s screengrab each section is consistently offset, but some sections are negative some positive: an ultra-low frequency alternating signal could cause that presentation (say 0.001Hz , peak amplitude 0.2) , however the equalization I suggested, removing everthing below 20Hz, would have c...

Re: Fixing volume/pitch differences between recordings?
Steve may know the (Nyquist) command used in Audacity to add/subtract a constant (DC offset) value. Found it, (at least for a mono track) ... (setf s (sum s (* 0.3 1.0))) Select the part of the waveform you want to shift up/down, put that code into the "Nyquist Prompt", (in Audacity "...

Even though the free version of Madtracker apparently does not allow you to save the track, I suppose it would be possible to record the track it produced using Audacity. http://audacityteam.org/help/faq?s=recording&i=streaming [ Although I suspect you couldn’t save your work as a project you co...
