Re: How to amplify after noise removal w/out adding noise
The detective insists it is not his recorder, but the recordings I have received from him lately, even when not recorded in large, open places like jail bathrooms, sound like this recording. Could it be the way he downloads/saves the audio files? Yes, an echo effect can be created by accident when ...

Re: How to amplify after noise removal w/out adding noise
In short the patient is terminal. It sounds like it was recorded via an echoey tube, like an air-vent or drain-pipe. Then way too much compression has been applied which has introduced the whistley R2-D2 artifacts. I’ve attempted to recreate this combination of distortions … before-after attempt to ...

Re: How to amplify after noise removal w/out adding noise
You could attach a 5-10 seconds of the worst part of the original recording, (before you have attempted to clean it ) to your next post,Roxanne1149 wrote:... if it can be fixed.
and we could tell you if you are flogging a dead horse. Bear in mind anyone can hear and download audio posted in this forum.

Re: Record from two mics into two separate files simultaneou
Trebor, would I be able to save the spectrogram display as a separate file from the actual voice file??? If so, that might work. Hmm... The spectrogram display could be saved as an image using a screen-grab program, (e.g. the free Windows snipping tool ). I’d never heard of an electroglottograph: a...

Re: Record from two mics into two separate files simultaneou
If you used Audacity's frequency analysis, or spectrogram display, to a (single) recording of your voice it would show the "vibrations per second", (i.e. frequency), of your voice.

Re: Feedback issues
Try disabling "stereo mix", aka "wave out", aka record "what-U-hear" in windows recording devices,
i.e. only record from the USB mixer device, don't simultaneously record the output from Audacity, (which is "what-U-hear").
Recording output => feedback.
