Sounds like that is not possible to do on the fly and requires processing it through Change Speed.
Change speed also changes pitch. Change tempo changes speed but preserves pitch.

Some pet birds can hear up to 10kHz ...

the melody is below 6kHz so they should be able to hear that,
they may benefit from a treble boost though.
