Multichannel recording on standard "out-of-the-box" Audacity is only possible with some devices ... Recording With Audacity As distributed, Audacity comes with support for Windows MME and WDM drivers. MME drivers work fine for simple stereo recording and playback, and are available on all ...

Re: best technique for kids mono mp3 player?

I've got an mp3 player for my son, it's pretty basic. It only plays the left channel of an mp3 track. It should be stereo, the "only plays the left channel" problem could be broken connection in headphone cable. In the earbud type headphones can be bought for £1 / $2, (admittedly not top-...

Re: Help before I send files to be mastered

In this day and age why try to distribute your music on CD ? [ Isn’t that a form of vanity publishing , (a loss-making venture) }. Stick your music on the internet for download, you’ll reach a larger market and the overheads negligible compared with the cost of having 100’s of CDs made. [ It will st...

Re: Transfer music on a Mac

Apparently it has analog and digital output ... http://cms.rolandus.com/assets/media/pdf/vsappgd2.pdf Digital would provide better quality than analog, (I dunno what digital file format the VS880 uses) , but you could feed it's analog-out into the mac's line-in if the digital files cannot be read or...

Re: It gets worser everytime I play it :¬o

Try playing this file: test-loop.mp3 I can hear the increasing distortion on your test-loop too. If you can hear any difference then it must be a playback problem on your equipment or a psychological phenomena. I had considered that I was just noticing a defect more once I had detected it, but if a...

Re: It gets worser everytime I play it :¬o

It sounds fine here -- through all the loops. The distortion isn't glaring, but it's quite obvious by the forth loop on the vocal "my money". You only obliquely said you were on Windows I've tried playing on it Windows and Linux (on the same computer) with Audacity and different media pla...

Re: It gets worser everytime I play it :¬o

Simply playing the file doesn't change the audio data, of course. Looping shouldn't change the data either,it should just repeat the same data. It definitely gets worse with repetition, attached is a recording of what I hear through the computer speakers ... ah gave her all my money, looped x4, (re...

Ah it must be specific to my computer, thanks for testing it.

No usually 44.1KHz.

However resampling from 48 to 44.1 doesn't help :( , (nor does mucking about with bit depth).
