Is there anything in Audacity that will let me select the complete project, then apply one of the effects that will make sure all the levels are the same? I've no problem with people charging for their work. neither do I. I know I can do it in "Equaliser" after the vocal has been selected, but I don't want to do this each time I record a new track, as there's a danger of differences. You can save a "custom" equalization curve (your settings), and reload it in the future to apply exactly the same ...

If I open the dialog you mentioned and set the value to 5db as you suggested then the "OK" button become unclickable/disabled. If you tick the box "allow clipping" on the amplify dialog the "OK" button will be clickable, however clipping means the waveform is going off...
