Re: Squealing/whining sound when recording
Now I'm once again suffering from this problem. It came seemingly out of nowhere, and disappeared in the same way, and now it's back again ... is there still something I can try? ... it was present regardless of what headset was being used; in fact even when the extension cable alone was connected ...

6 Compress as required Normally using ... 8:1 in Bass Drum and Snare drum The response time of a regular [dynamic range] compressor is not fast enough to cope with the very steep attack of percussion. Steve’s limiter is an ultra-fast compressor which can cope with percussion. ( use a regular compre...

Re: Help with second track
... laid down the first track beautifully. I don't think my guitar has ever sounded better, to be honest. Only problem was...it was one speaker only...should I have chosen "stereo" as the option for the 1st track, or do i want only 1 speaker? If you want the sound on that recording to com...

Re: Squealing/whining sound when recording
If the (feedback ?) squeal occurs even when no speakers / headphones / microphone are attached then a possible explanation is feedback within the Windows mixer, i.e. the output sound has been included as an input source , e.g. "stereo mix" aka "wave out" aka "what-u-hear&quo...

Re: Tool(s) to automate finding sleep talking in 8h MP3 file
Just tried Audacity “truncate silence” on a 5hour 15min mp3 (sample rate 22050Hz)
It managed it in eight minutes, and reduced its length to under an hour ,
so my guesstimate of 10 -15 minutes for 8 hours seems about right.
