Re: New Guy with an EQ question.
The internet archive has lots of grateful dead recordings ... http://archive.org/details/GratefulDead http://archive.org/search.php?query=grateful%20dead%20AND%20mediatype%3Aaudio You could compare (analyze) the spectra of recordings you like the sound of with the spectrum of your Grateful dead reco...

Re: Trying to create soundwave that looks like a 'heartbeat'
I suspect " looks like a graphic of a heartbeat " just means " looks like a waveform (oscilloscope) display ",
i.e. including the sound of a heart isn't part of the brief (but I may be wrong).

... It all sits okay together, and sounds decent. But I want just a little more magic, so I think it's time to go try some of these other verbs I keep hearing about. I think the "magic" you're missing is stereo : Gverb is a mono reverb : there is no crossover of the Left and Right channel...

This is what "I love" looks like in Audacity ...
you have to zoom-in on the time-scale see the individual peaks and valleys.

Re: Can't record in mono
Can only record if set to 2(stereo)input channels. If I use drop down menu and chooe 1 (mono)input channel, no input meter reading and hitting record does nothing. Have you tried creating a mono track then using append recording (hold down the shift key then click cursor on red record button) ... c...
Re: HELP
An mp3 player which also records would be a cheaper and more reliable solution for a mobile (covert?) recording device than a radio link via mobile phone, (with better sound quality than a phone too). You subsequently attach the device to the computer's USB socket and download the audio recording, (...

Re: Bring it on home Led Zeppelin
Plant was singing extremely close to the microphone, possibly with his hands cupped around the head of the mic as if playing a harmonica. It does sound like he is singing into a harmonica mic at the start of the track (a bit muffled and too quiet in parts), but the track abruptly changes at 1m44s w...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihWhTvHVLAM# t=2m20 Unfortunately there is not an effect which anyone sound like Robert Plant My suggestions to emulate the vocal on that track at 2min 20sec ... 1. Cut off all the frequencies below 200Hz on your vocal with the equalizer. 2. Apply Audacity's leveller...

Re: Record commentary for something, audio goes out of sync
.. I go to sync it up in post and the audio is about 10 seconds longer than the video ... The video stops, but the audio I recorded keeps going like I was still playing the game ... Does anyone know what is going on with my Audacity and why the audio is lagging so much? Running your game, and the s...

Re: Asio Drivers/ 0 latency?
i am using Adobe audition ... I've heard about Asio drivers ... Does anyone know where i can get one? An Adobe Audition forum seems a better bet than an Audacity forum ... http://forums.adobe.com/community/audition For using ASIO drivers on Audacity see ... http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?ti...
