Re: Creating Virtualization, and Separating Vocals......

Probably by painstakingly working through note by note like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FScFKuXXM0 (this is not free software). It seems like it would be fun, and exhausting at the same time. Essentially, its' separating each aspect of the track and remixing it? I suspect the uncluttered ...

Re: Ok, I'm stuck with trying to 'clean up' this fuzzy audio

So my church is trying to show this video, which is overall good quality (video wise) but the audio is horrible! It sounds 'fuzzy,' almost like the mic volume was maxed out or something.. Attachments Speech-Clip.zip (651.61 KiB) IMO it's “ limiting ” rather than “ clipping ”, due to AGC which is pr...

Re: Strange artifacts after Noise Removal

I decided it would be clever to remove the noise under the recording in two steps: first remove the tape hiss, and then in a second step remove the remaining performance recording hiss. One application of noise-reduction is sufficient : the "silence" after the performance is the noise-pro...

Try "Cross Fade".

Re: Decay restoration

Possibly a job for "Paul Stretch" which now comes with Audacity.
Make a copy of what you've got and stretch it, then blend the stretched version with the original.

Re: Unusual calliope like sounds when recording guitar.

I have just begun to use my new Toshiba Laptop with a built in Realtek soundcard Attachments Test 3.wav (965.53 KiB) I think I recognise the sound of soundcard "enhancement" which needs to be turned off ... http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_recording_troubleshooting.html#[b]enhance...

Re: Creating Virtualization, and Separating Vocals......

"My Old Flame," by Dinah Washington (1955). A pseudo-stereo effect based on volume and frequency has Dinah moving about in he stereo field : here the louder her voice is the further left she goes ... Dinah all over the place.mp3 IMO Convincingly isolating simultaneous instruments and voca...

Re: *how can I REMOVE this STATIC INTERFERENCE...?

Because the static is different on each track, Kn0ck0ut with centre-isolation is worth a try to isolate what is common to both channels: the voice , (however the result is mono and the processing adds digital artifact noises)
sample static 2, before-after Kn0ck0ut.mp3
Note: after is mono

Re: Creating Virtualization, and Separating Vocals......

.. is there away to separate the vocals to the left side and an instrument to the right ... If the original recording is mono, (or dual-mono), and the vocals and instrument occur simultaneously, and they overlap on the sound spectrum, then IMO the answer is no. The pseudo-stereo separation is by fr...
