Re: horrible audio in video
The main distortion is digital compression-artefacts , either the up-loader or YouTube has applied a low-quality low-bit-rate , ( low kbps ). IMO this is not correctable.bluecoat_as1tl wrote: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8oSbiIsc_8o

Re: How to match same actor's voice but different microphone
If the recordings were made in different locations , (e.g. different rooms) then IMO its impossible to make a seamless join. Making the sound spectrum of the two recordings similar with equalization is possible, but equalization won't change any differences in reverberation due to different locations.

Reverberation sustains notes, but won't alter their pitch glissando-style. There are many "reverb" effect plug-ins which can be used with Audacity, some are free ... http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=216030#p216030 If you really mean glissando, not reverb, some VST i (instrumen...

Re: Accidentally recorded priceless interview in "mono" (ech
It does sound like you were simultaneously recording from two microphones with a delay between them , (either due to physical separation of the mics and/or a digital delay), producing an echo. IMO this echo is not fixable : there’s nothing to differentiate voice from echo to allow them to be separat...

Re: Recording from cassette is muddy
Here are two totally raw samples of the recording; One with dolby on while recording and one with it off. Since I am uneducated in this area, I would appreciate specific suggestions, such as "try normalization at X setting". :? Thank you to everyone who it taking time out of their day to ...

Re: Recording from cassette is muddy
Attachments tim raw.wav (540.04 KiB) That sounds like noise reduction has been applied, (the scribbling noise artefacts), if so it's not "raw" . There is very little above 2KHz, (should go to over 10KHz for a reasonable music recording). It is possible you may have accidentally removed th...

... left and right channel audio seems to be mixed between both channels. When panning hard right or left I still hear the other channel playing... Maybe a "surround-sound" type effect being applied by your sound-card, mixing in crossover, which can be switched off, (i.e. a sound-card thi...
