Re: Apply fxs 2 make podcast sound as good as possible (podc

Please Koz and friends, is the attached audio clip better? does it sound better? if yes, do I need to add any more effects? like bass boost? or something else? 1- A Journey.mp3 (882.45 KiB) It sounds good. IMO it's slightly staccato which is fixable with more dynamic-range-compression (via limiter ...

Re: Is it possible to upgrade GoPro audio using Audacity

With the benefit of hindsight my EQ curve above removes a bit too much bass.
Here's a preset for a similar curve which doesn't remove as much bass ...

Attachments DVD 1 WAV sample.wav sample of video voice (797.12 KiB) IMO applying equalization which cuts the bass makes it sound a bit less muffled ... ''DVD 1 WAV sample'', before-after suggested equalization #.wav EQ 'curve' suggestion # for whp.png You can copy the above EQ "curve" man...

Re: Is it possible to upgrade GoPro audio using Audacity

... I have read that audio in 256 Kbps is much better. My concern is that since the GoPro MP4 video clips were only recorded at 128Kbps/48 Khz it will do little good to set up Windows Movie Maker to dedicate 256Kbps to sound instead of 128. Am I wrong? Re-encoding audio in another lossy compression...

... you still have a little science fiction "martian voice" as a holdover from doing all those corrections. The Martian effect may be due to the multi-notch filter on step 4 ... 4. Select all of your track and put the code below in the Nyquist prompt to remove the faint 1KHz whine + 10 ha...

When I mentioned harsh, what I meant was that at higher frequencies the mic can distort a bit ... A de-esser plugin will selectively (dynamically) reduce areas with lots of high-frequency content [sibilance] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De-essing "SpitFish" de-esser "LISP" de-e...

Other drivers can be the cause ... I had a WiFi driver which caused a click on audio at regular intervals, (the WiFi driver was demanding an excessive period of attention from the CPU during which the audio playback was neglected for a millisecond causing a recurring click). Changing the WiFi driver...

Here's a six second test with just the vocoder against pink noise. No other effects yet. Koz The " mda talkbox " is a better vocoder than Audacity's native vocoder if the objective is comprehensible robotic speech ... before-after ''mda talkbox'' [high-resolution vocoder].mp3 "mda ta...

Re: Help Making Awesome Sound Effects

The creepy effect where it sounds like a voice is manifesting itself from thin air (like in nocturne.move1, for example) is a trick used by putting the Echo effect "backwards" on the voice. Try using reverb rather than echo, [the effect is also called "reverse reverb" ]. Obadia ...
