Re: 50 Year Old Analog Audio Noise Removal Issue.
I attempted to use that same protocol with this next section of organ music and vocals, but I was not able to eliminate enough of the hum. I’m not sure if I’m need to use a higher setting, or if because of the different environment this section was recorded in is giving me new additional issues ? A...

Re: Audactiy distorted ALL audio files. How do I fix this?
Are you sure it's not a sound-enhancement feature on your computer, (which is nothing to do with Audacity), which is responsible for all your recordings now sounding different. When such enhancements are turned on or off all the audio played on the computer then will sound different from before, whe...

Re: Blue Snowball High Pitched Humming
Ok so the pluggable usb hub came in the post today and it has got rid of the high pitched humming which is great but now I get a low pitched hum. I've tried different usb ports but its the same each time. I have attached a sample. That's got some 1KHz harmonics from the computer and now has added 5...

Attachments Original Master No Edits of Family Recording 1A Count 670.mp3 (423.26 KiB) Hum is the most obvious problem on that and best dealt with using de-hum plugins and/or other notch filters. Hiss is the kind of problem noise-reduction was designed to attenuate with. The hiss on that recording ...

Re: automated silence interval
Although Steve has already posted a functional snippet, Here is my version ... That code fulfils the brief , but needs a "scale 0.5" , as otherwise the resultant waveforms double in amplitude. That type of alternating code could be useful for before-after demonstrations : chopping between...

Re: vst reverb plugins. Are they as good as hardware
... vst reverb doesn't sound as good ... What may be unsatisfactory is some reverb VST are mono : the reverb effect doesn't crossover to the other channel like it would in the real world. With mono reverb you have to take an additional step to mix a little of each channel with the other to make it ...

Re: Dogs only recordings?
When I play the recording I can't hear a thing but the VU metre in the top centre(left) is going up and down. Does that mean there is sound there that I cant hear? Next Id like to get it onto the iphone, and play it through speakers. Audio devices designed for humans will only reproduce frequencies...
