... if anyone knows of another application, I'd like to try something else. I've just tried Paul-L's De-Esser , a Nyquist plugin , and it seems to work* ... Paul-L's Nyquist De-Esser plugin.gif Nyquist Plugins are Audacity-specific , not OS-specific , so should work in Audacity on a Mac , ( I think...

... I assume you've tried slowing-down the playback to bring the ultrasonic sounds down' to where you can hear it? +1 for slowing down the track so you can hear Micky , then you can apply noise reduction tools designed to process audio within human hearing range. You could slow it down quickly by c...

Re: Unwanted noise on recording
Attachments xx.mp3 Yes there's some faint mains hum but the main problem is [brown] noise ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_noise [ sounds like light rain ]. Audacity's noise removal will help a bit to reduce that hiss noise, but see if you can turn up something to improve the signal-to-noise ...

"find similar pattern" concept is not impossible to execute as Google can do that with images , ( admittedly not 100% successfully ). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reverse_image_search But "find similar pattern" not currently possible with Audacity. If you look at the entire show ...

... Is there any software that can produce that kind of sound? Will Steve's "Crazy Distortion" do it? If you want your vocal to sound more like Saraceno try the "AM Radio" equalization curve in Audacity's equalizer, (maybe even apply it twice). Then try Steve's distortion on &qu...

Re: De-esser for Mac?
Try the de-esser in http://mda.smartelectronix.com/ . Please give us feedback on how well it works. On Windows I found it is necessary to apply that mda de-esser repeatedly for it to have an effect comparable with SpitFish , so you may have to do the same on the Mac version, [ Keyboard short-cut to...

The brief was to fade-out the end of the notes. Without the reversal Ggate would only fade-in the start of the notes.Gale Andrews wrote:Why is it necessary to reverse the track to apply the GGate?

Re: Automatically fading badly cut notes to remove clicks
... However, it's not working when I simply run it on the whole project. the silent interval between of some of the notes on your example is as short as 0.15 sec , that's not long enough for Ggate to register that silence has occurred to detect the beginning of each note. Here's a workaround: slow ...
